From July 2023 to June 2024, I embarked on a journey of creative exploration, transforming one art activation into a 4 painting series of dynamic community-driven events across Calgary. Each activation became a space where the community played an integral role in co-creating meaningful stories through art. At every event, participants contributed their unique perspectives, shaping each painting into a collective narrative that reflected the essence of the gathering. This journey demonstrates the viability of my community art installation concept and its adaptability to Calgary's diverse communities. Through these activations, I have honed the ability to plan, organize, execute, and nurture large-scale, community-inspired projects. The experience showcases not only my artistic capabilities but also my skill in fostering connection and collaboration through shared creativity. Design Proposal Approach My design proposal will be tailored to the specific events I am engaged with. To ensure the artwork resonates deeply, I will research the event's/place’s stories, mission, vision, values, and symbols. This approach guarantees that each painting becomes a meaningful and authentic representation of the community it celebrates. I trust that my portfolio and past activations serve as strong evidence of my ability to create impactful, large-scale community art projects. These experiences support my dedication to bringing people together through art and storytelling, creating lasting impressions that honor the spirit of the events and the communities involved.
